This means you can autoflower rather late in the season September or very early March. Please note that the plants can only grow with adequate warmth. Exposure to excessive levels of moisture could result in rot. We recommend growing autoflowering plants indoors if possible. Plants with ruderalis genetics are tougher than those without but still require light to produce food for themselves.
This process enables them to absorb CO2 during the photosynthesis process continually. Ruderalis plants grew for a long time in the northern hemisphere. In that situation, they were exposed to 24 hours of light a day on occasion. However, it usually slows down after a few weeks because the plant is without adequate rest. You also save money on your energy bill! Whatever additional yield you attain from constant lighting is more than offset by the increase in your lighting bill!
The latest generation of auto-flowering plants are more prominent than their predecessors and produce a bigger yield.
As a result, they need more nutrients than their first-gen counterparts. Even so, on average, an auto-flowering plant still requires fewer nutrients than photoperiod plants. Make sure you water them for the first two weeks as they begin to grow. There is no need to add nutrients during this period. By week three, you can begin adding nutrients and increase the feeding rate weekly.
Remember, the vegetative stage is short, so you need less nitrogen. Light feeding is ideal unless you notice a nutrient deficiency. The best method of harvesting auto-flowering plants is to take the colas and allow the lower buds to become denser before harvest. As a result, you need to keep the buds that are lower down on the plant.
Since you can grow batches a year, it adds up to a lot of buds! We also recommend preparing the next crop as you are harvesting.
Pop seeds before you collect your existing plants to ensure your garden is continually producing. Many of the same drying, curing, and storing rules apply with auto-flowering cannabis plants. You can dry your buds by hanging them upside down for a few days. Store them in airtight containers but ensure there is a bit of space in each jar. Initially, open the jars once a day for a few minutes. After a week, opening the jars once every days will suffice.
Your bud is ready for use once there is only a small amount of moisture left. Transport your weed to a sealed container and use it within a few months. It is relatively easy to buy autoflowering seeds online. There is an increasing number of reputable websites that sell them. Alternatively, you can find them in a local dispensary, but purchasing the best autoflower seeds is a challenge at first.
It is also crucial to purchase feminized seeds. Otherwise, around half of your crop will consist of male plants, which could ruin everything. If you have a small grow room, purchase an indica strain because they usually grow smaller.
If you have a larger space, buy sativa autoflower strains. They are typically bigger and provide a higher yield. By the standards of autoflowering strains, it is a large plant that can reach cm in height. What interests growers is the fact that it can grow from seed to harvest in just ten weeks! Users claim that it offers a nice sweet and spicy taste. Also, it offers an uplifting cerebral high that can be used to manage the symptoms of depression and perhaps boost your appetite.
This autoflowering option is a new cross of White Widow , which is widely regarded as one of the finest strains around. It looks just like its photoperiod counterpart with wide dark green leaves and glistening trichomes.
While it has many traits that made its traditional version so popular, the auto version has a total crop time of under 85 days! The buds provide users with an indica effect, and its woody, intense aroma and taste combine beautifully with a hint of lemon. White Widow Automatic has been bred for several years to ensure genetic stability.
The plant can grow to cm, although it is more likely to hit 50cm. The overall yield is up to 9 ounces per square meter, although some growers claim they have attained a yield of 16 ounces. When Quick One was released, it was among the fastest-growing strains ever. While there are even quicker growing autos these days, Quick One is still lightning with a total grow time of around weeks. However, you may want to give it an extra week for a more mature final plant.
Its yield can reach a decent 12 ounces per meter square indoors but is just ounces outdoors. It offers a fresh, herbal aroma with a pleasant taste that has citrus notes. As you can probably guess, it is among the easiest autoflowering strains to grow.
So, if the things I have written above in my beginner type way are basically true, the main question here is: When does everyone that grows autoflowers trim the leaves off of their autoflower plants, and the buds? So u do NOT trim any leaves before or around harvest time? Before drying process? I think I misunderstood you. I am talking about trimming your plant before flowering.
You are taking of trimming around harvest time. I have trimmed the fan leaves off a day or two before harvest. Thanks basementstealth!!! I am just a beginner at this really. Have not grown is a really long time. Things were very different then!!! A bunch of people told me, that I should put them in the dark for a day or two or even three, right before harvest.
I am clueless, and trying to figure things out as I go. Perhaps some of my assumptions or statements in my first post on this topic are incorrect? Autos grow fast and die young. I believe buy can not support with facts that their plan is to store energy in the leaves in their short vegetative state and then suck those leaves dry at the end of their life while making buds.
Just my thoughts on the matter. Thanks Flockshot, I appreciate your input. Set 1 of 5 - Album on Imgur. Set 2 of 5 - Album on Imgur. Set 3 of 5 - Album on Imgur. Set 4 of 5 - Album on Imgur.
Set 5 of 5 - Album on Imgur. Alright already! LOL Sorry for posting 5 links, I couldn't get them to upload and appear correctly here But these pics show you where my plant started and where it is today. They are in order, from the first set to the 5th, going by time stamps Unfortunately they don't show date and time stamps on Imgur Hopefully you can make out the details in the pics Let me know what you think, and if there are any issues.
Looks like it should work to me! So I don't know anything about growing this is my first grow but I was wondering don't u get light into your buckets from the wHite plastic or did u just paid them? I am in treated because I am thinking about making a 20 site outdoor sog hydro system ant white pvc is easy to come by but I was worried about light and algy. Hey abadtrip, you are VERY correct! The white buckets will let light in, and I can swear by that This is my first auto grow, but I actually started a different grow about 2 months back.
I ended up stopping that grow so I could take those plants out of my tent, so I could get this auto going better strain choice for my needs. That grow was of 3 different strains in 3 different 5 gallon buckets, and just by sheer dumb luck, all 3 had different light levels. I had one bucket that I wrapped in foil and then duct tape, so it was completely dark from the bucket but I forgot about the lid.
And finally the third bucket was completely white and the light was basically able to flood in from the white bucket sides. The first bucket had almost no algae The second bucket had an algae problem that looked like it was between the first bucket and the third. It was a problem, but it was "save-able". I actually made another post, asking about my algae problem.
I'll try and see if I can figure out how to add a link that will point to that chain Dunno if I can figure it out when I'm high Which I currently am! In my other post, I had help from others here. I have also had to battle heat issues, so the white paint layer was very important. I "highly" recommend this approach for your application! LMAO I have the giggles right now, and typing "highly" just keeps making me laugh! Hello AFN. I am currently growing my first auto ,she is 80 days old today and all I did was tie her down past 90 degrees when she was couple weeks old ,about to harvest the rest of her in a week or so.
I cut every leaf that got in the way , but that is just me ,some don't. Check out Automechanic on GWE you can get more info there. Plus this is my first auto ,but I can't see that it stunts them any.
Nice healthy plant with nice color you are growing. Hope this helps some. Good Luck. Cfls for a week or two lec for everything else Dug up Ms. Do you have any pictures up? What light and grow setup are you using? This is Jack Horror AF, so it's a sativa dominant strain. I'm kinda surprised at how short she is staying, so I'm wondering what others are facing.
Thanks for the help! Congrats on growing! I notice you have spots on your leaves and they look droopy.
