Sign me up! True Blood was a bloodcurdling hit for HBO for several years, becoming one of the channel's successes alongside a certain mob drama. Adapting a book series that the show's creator found completely by happenstance, it aired during the height of the vampire craze led by franchises like Twilight. Similarly taking a romantic, suburban tone with its take on bloodsuckers, True Blood was also injected with topical social commentary surrounding vampires.
The show, like all good things, came to an eventual end, however, coinciding with the saturation of vampire media on the market. Though its run would suggest otherwise, True Blood wasn't canceled or ended due to disinterest or negative views from the audience.
